AMAN NUSA HOTEL - Bali is located at the heart of the Indonesian archipelago. Its north coast faces the Bali Sea while the southern coast is lapped by the Indian Ocean. The island is just two kilometres off the eastern tip of Java. Bali is one of the most accessible destinations in Southeast Asia with daily flights from most major cities in Asia and Australia. Travellers from the United States or Europe tend to fly via Singapore or Hong Kong. There are also domestic flights from the surrounding islands and ferry connections. Amanusa is a 15-minute drive from the airport, Amandari 45 minutes, and Amankila one hour by complimentary transfer.

Amanusa (which means “peaceful isle” and opened in 1992) enjoys a commanding position on a garden hillside in southern Bali just above the Bali Golf and Country Club. Views run from the adjacent Indian Ocean shoreline to sacred Mount Agung that dominates the far horizon on a clear day.

The entrance to the lobby is a colonnaded open-air hall lined with baskets of white tuberoses. Framing the foyer is a teak sculpture illustrating scenes from the Ramayana, one of the two great epic poems of India.

ROOM FACILITIES

Amanusa has 35 thatched-roof suites linked by paved walkways and set behind foliage and mossy paras stone walls for added privacy.

Room Types:
* Garden Suites: All suites have four-poster beds and round tables for private dining, a sunken indoor bath, outdoor shower, a garden courtyard and a terrace with a spacious canopied day bed.

* Deluxe Suites: These suites are identical to Garden Suites with extensive views of the golf course or the Ocean.

* Pool Suites: Eight suites have private swimming pools and a spacious terrace.

* Amanusa Suite: The Amanusa Suite enjoys a private swimming pool and the most privileged views of the Ocean.

HOTEL FACILITIES

Bars and Restaurants:
The Terrace offers sweeping views of Bali, embracing the golf course, the Indian Ocean, Nusa Dua and the Bukit, which is Bali’s southern peninsula. During the day it is open for breakfast and lunch, serving a variety of Asian and Continental dishes, while in the evenings it offers a range of Indonesian and Thai dishes. Just below, the Restaurant specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, which is served in an elegant room with high ceilings or in the outdoor courtyard surrounded by flowering frangipani trees which overlook the pool.

Other Facilities and Services:
* The Beach Club: This is located on the beachfront of the Bali Golf and Country Club. The Club consists of ten bales, each with two sun loungers. Refreshments, light meals, showers and washrooms are provided. The sand beach is one of Bali's best and is fringed by a coral reef. Snorkelling equipment and kayaks are available. The Beach Club is also the setting for candlelit barbecues, and sunrise breakfasts can be enjoyed in the privacy of the bales.

* Swimming Pool: The large 24m blue pool is bordered by a bougainvillea-covered trellis, flowering frangipani trees and a high paras-stone wall.

* Library: The library specialises in books on Indonesian art and culture and also offers an extensive CD and VCD selection. A laptop computer is available for e-mail and Internet access.

* Boutique and Gallery: Balinese and Indonesian craft and antiques as well as other gift items are available.

* Tennis: Amanusa's two, all-weather tennis courts are floodlit for evening play. Attendants are available as playing partners or ball boys. A bale is located between the courts for shady breaks of iced chrysanthemum tea and refreshments.

* Massage and Beauty Treatments: Amanusa's resident masseuses mix traditional Balinese massage with Swedish massage and acupressure. Massage is available in the privacy of your suite, in the specially-designated massage suite, on one of the Beach Club bales. Body treatments as well as facials, pedicures and manicures are also available. Amanusa's reiki master is on hand to redress any energy imbalances and a reflexologist is available once a week.

* Meetings and Special Events: The resort has meeting facilities for up to 30 people and is a special venue for occasions like weddings, birthdays and family reunions. Amanusa's boardroom is two rooms in one: a conference facility for informal meetings and a reception area for coffee breaks and cocktails. Facilities include direct lines for fax and telephone, a video and laser-disc system, satellite TV and a computer link to the projector and the big screen. For guests wanting a deeper insight into Balinese life and culture, Amanusa will arrange seminars or presentations.

* Sporting Events: Amanusa arranges corporate tennis or golf tournaments.
